Hi guys,

I'm after some advise re season tickets / 1878 membership. I've supported town for over 40 yrs but have never purchased a season ticket.

My main reason for this being that I work shifts and work 3 Saturdays out of every 6 so this option has never really been cost effective. However because of this, I have missed out on tickets for several big games.

Genuine question, if I purchased a season ticket and can't attend the match due to work commitments can my partner use the season  ticket in my place ? Or is that a no no

Would I be better purchasing the 1878 membership ? If so how does this work, do I have to select the matches I'm going to attend at the beginning of the season ?

I don't think they've confirmed that they're doing the 1878 membership again, but I imagine they will.

I had 1878 last season and it worked pretty well for me.  You don't have to pre-select fixtures, you can turn up to any 5 home games and get your sixth free.  You also get a 10% discount in the club shop and some vouchers for free drinks in the fanzone.  It doesn't provide much benefit for away ticket priority though as in-demand games won't make it past season ticket holders usually, and I expect this to very much remain the case next season.

As for handing your season ticket out when you can't attend, I'm pretty sure that's perfectly acceptable.  There's also talk of the club possibly implementing a buy-back scheme for games that season ticket holders can't make, so I'd keep an eye out for that.

Yeah that’s perfectly acceptable, especially within a family. If I ever can’t make it I’ll lend my tickets to a mate or family member

Thanks for the help, I'm definitely going to go with one of the options, but knowing that my partner can go in my place is swaying me towards a season ticket
