Thought workers in UK got 5 weeks + Bank Holidays unless you are a GP and only work a 3 day week.

I see a few teams seem to be back already.

Then there’s the Scunny approach. Judging by their results it looks like their players were taking it pretty easy for about the last two months of the season.

You’ll be lucky to get three out of them in some practices.

This not a dog at the NHS either but I’ve needed an appointment, albeit a simple medical check for adoption process and they were shut a week for ‘training’…god knows what for and then when we did book one they were less than accommodating with work schedules.

Anyway, aside from that. Pre season is exactly that, a run out, an opportunity to switch the team and try new things…

Whilst I appreciate the frustrations of not getting into see your GP, which I've experienced myself.  I would rather all the staff are fully-up-to-date with current guidelines, advice, training requirements and developments than not.

The reason a week has been blocked out is probably because they've had no opportunity to sharpen their saws in the last few years thanks to the constant extra demands just thrown at them by the Government.

I mean we're going well off tangent now but you have to ask how long can this be sustained?  Waiting lists to get into see your GP are increasing.  Vacancy rates in GP practices are increasing.  Less people are qualifying to be a GP.  Everything has a breaking point.

We've also got half the GPs per capita as many areas in the country. Astounding that there isn't any coherent plan to keep GP ratios up in all areas of the country but then the frequent reorganisations of the NHS we've seen over the past decade or so aren't going to allow any sort of continuity and you need the people in power to have an interest in it. Ours have an interest in privatising healthcare instead.

Monday 4th according to the Telegraph. A tad later than everyone else, but understandable considering most our squad played a month longer than others.
