Has just signed for Scunthorpe. I liked him when here, not sure whether he would have fit what we're trying to do currently but I wouldn't have considered him an awful signing. A little surprised he's ended up down the road though. With the position Scunny seem to be in overall it doesn't strike me as a shrewd move for the player.

Hasn’t played a game since April last year. He’s damaged goods.

With his injury struggles I imagine his choices were limited so it's probably not a bad deal for him since they'll play him if fit. He needs a way back in after injuries and getting released.

Was bang average when we had him. Did have a talent for well timed runs into the box though.

Was a serial sicknote when he was here, he's completely copulated now.

Didn't rate him really at all. Very limited and slow on the ball, nearly always needing an extra touch to get it under control and never seeming comfortable in possession. Got in to good goal scoring records but would be very disappointed if our midfielders this season weren't a significant upgrade on him.

He was more than a bit meh! for me.

Wasn't bothered when he left and was surprised FGR signed him.

The phrase 'flattering to deceive' springs to mind.

My Lincoln mates said he was the better of all the recent ex-Imps we have had (this was last year - not 22/23 Waterfall) - Green, Waterfall, Whitehouse, etc when we seemed to go through a phase of getting them.

When fit, he was a good, if unspectacular CM. I watched him, when (I may be wrong) had Glennon and I saw Whitehouse lose the ball about 7 times in 10 mins at home, while Glennon was constantly trying to win it and progress!

If he can stay injury-free, a good signing for Scunny.

I would like Scunny to stay in the National League, and not drop into obscurity, as Boston could do with a nice local win when they go up next season!

He was good at Lincoln, it was a bit of a coup at the time because Lincoln had offered him a new deal after winning promotion and I remember people being happy about it. Then he ruptured his ACL in pre season and was out for a whole season, was never the same when he came back and seems like at FGR he's had more injury issues probably related to the bad injury he got in that pre season.

Purely on his ability and attributes, I think he's actually a very decent signing at that level.  Definitely above what Scunny seem to have at present.

However there's a huge issue with his fitness.  Is that his third serious long term injury?  Sure he had one at Lincoln, then one with us and then the one with FGR.

I liked him here when he got going in that second season.  Towards the end of the curtailed season under Holloway he looked to be nearing his best and was getting in and around the frontmen to good effect.

Not all bad, he was credited with the assist when Vernam scored the goal of the day/week/month/season/decade* (*delete as applicable) at Colchester in 2020.

Great move for Whitehouse, not so sure on how it will work for Scunny.

As injury prone, if not more, than Max Wright.

Ultimately, a good enough player in non-league, but doesn't play enough

Liked him when he was here.
Good luck to the lad, he will need it.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Totally forgot that he missed that first season with us, looks like he has definitely done something wrong to a passing black cat though at some point, serious injuries are one thing but signing for Scunny....the boy is cursed.

I have a mate who works in a morgue and he often commented that Whitehouse looked like he’d come fresh from the slab.

The first row in the Main Stand were given safety goggles in case his hamstrings popped.

Good luck to him and other standard modern platitudes.

Was a very immobile player for us but did know where the goal was, improved under hollowhead if I remember correctly.

Decent signing for them if he can stay fit and their aim is to avoid relegation and not much more.

Ahhh good luck to him, a decent fella trying to earn a living from the game, we have moved on in a positive direction, if he can get another season or two out of playing non league for Scunthorpe then fair play, they are where they are and signing what they can afford and attract, if Elliott is a good fit for them and their ambition then they will need all the luck they can get.

I seem to recall that we were expecting a box to box midfielder but, when he was finally able to play, he did his best work under Holloway, in a more advanced midfield role playing the ball through to the forwards and showing decent close control.

I thought he was OK but nothing more and was surprised when he got a move to FGR. Given his injury issues, Scunny probably the highest level you expect to see him at these days.

A good player who grafts all day long. Decent technique but I believe he has had three ACL ruptures. I'm amazed he's even playing at all. Massive risk from Scunthorpe's point of view, hence the one year deal. Good luck to the lad, he needs some.

If they can keep him fit he'd be a star at that level. He could be the difference between a relegation battle and the lofty heights of 14-15th
