Interesting. He is clearly still looking for a center half and striker.

It also shows the importance of a good squad too. We are only in pre-season yet we already have Taylor, Khan and Maher injured and Wearne not fully recovered yet.

Just one of those things I suppose re: Maher, got to get the games in. At least we know 2-3 weeks before the start of the season rather than a couple of days.

Centre back will be sorted apparently, striker less so.

Good workout with result never in doubt. Actually felt sorry for Alfreton losing Rhead to injury in a practice game. They don't have many players and probably over committed themselves playing SWFC, Notts County, Solihull Moors, us and then Chesterfield as a build up. Giant Tom Denton was never going to run far in that heat either.

Thought Morris was exactly as described by Hurst. Industrious, no frills with an eye for forwards moving into space. Holohan looking to pounce on chances around the box, Orsi making runs,  drawing defenders and winning free kicks. Never got a clear cut chance like Cleethorpes but worked his socks off.

McAtee is just classy. Makes intelligent runs, drops deep when midfield is light and links in well with Harry and Glennon. Harry is the proverbial machine. The conditions were nothing to him.

Too little time to judge Wearne. Also not fit yet. Interesting cameo of Michee at centre half!

Ignore Telewag scores out of ten.

On that note, Andy Smith came on as a second half sub in Hull's game against Fenerbahçe but never came on in their second game against Malaga.

I don't think this one is anywhere near dead in the water, despite what Hurst may have nodded towards in a recent interview.

Edit: On the day Hull's first team faced Malaga, Smith was in a relatively young side playing Brighton's Under 23's.  Perhaps a strong indication that having had a look at him, Hull's management don't feel he's quite first team ready for them yet.
