Wouldn't it be ironic if it was called off because of flooding!

How's the pitch looking?

Midfield of Joe Waters, Dave Boylen and Dave Gilbert needed tonight to skid over wet surfaces....oh, hang on, .. let's put in a few Bobby Cumming slide tackles to warm up the fans !!

Will the newly laid surface drain well enough by 7.45pm?

Dave Moore was working away on Wearne’s hamstring after the warm up on Sat.

If his hammy wasn’t sore before that, it will be now. Presumably that’s why he’s missing from the squad.

EDIT: he’s on the bench.

After one treatment session from Dave Moore he's declared himself fit to play.

Wearne - "Thank you for that treatment, Dave, still a bit sore, and it's raining as well, but if you stop hitting me with that loofah, then I'll go out onto the bench !!"

Dave Moore - " If you think that's hitting you, wait till the wet sponge hits you if you fall down injured, and my shorts get wet "

Could be Glennon and Efete wing backs - it will be up to them to provide the width.

Narrow elsewhere.

Taylor up front. Diamond behind him with Kiernan at the top, Morris at the bottom, Holohan and T-1000 alongside each other in the centre.

Game off by the looks of it.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Was becoming a bit of a joke so the right call really. I doubt they could have done much at half time to make it better, whole areas of the pitch the ball wasn't moving and players sliding around.

Right decision. Slightly surprised the pitch didn't drain but there was a lot of rain in the space of an hour.

Pitch completely unplayable by the end there. Is that the third game called off at BP for a waterlogged pitch in August in the last 5 years? Wigan and Macclesfield spring to mind prior to tonight.

Bad luck, climate change or merely the result of a 120 year old drainage system which is simply no longer fit for purpose?

Mostly the result of it being incredibly dry for weeks until this storm hit so the ground doesn't drain as well as it normally would.

I think it was Efete and Kiernan who tried to do a one-two pass in a puddle and the ball didn't move at all where I thought okay this is getting dumb now.

Gutted,  paid for the live stream about 15 minutes in.  Hopefully it'll carry over to the rearranged tie. Right call IMO,  was becoming a bit of a dangerous surface and couldn't play along the floor

I’m no expert in irrigation but I’m sure there’s something in that. Just appears to be something that affects us disproportionately at this time of year.

Just a crazy dry summer and a downpour. The ground can’t soak it away quick enough due to the hardness underneath. Unlucky timing

That's why there has been flooding in parts of the UK today. Too much rainfall in a short period of time that the ground is too dry to absorb fast enough.

It is obviously true which is why the pitch looks in fantastic nick compared to our lawns. It was steady rain but it only started about 5.30 so there is obviously a problem with the drainage.

Not sure if you’ve been living in a fridge for the last 2 months, but we’ve not had a normal summer. 40degree days and hardly a drop of rain for weeks. You can’t replicate the effect of natural rainfall with a few sprinklers and hosepipes.

How the fupping hell is that guy a doctor ?? its obvious that the cup on the normal grass can get more air into the cup because of the blades of grass causing gaps at the rim.   That experiment has got nothing to do with drainage.

Rochdale still pointless.
