Chris Doig on media duties this week.

  • Andy Smith hasn't trained since Monday, been with physios. Nothing serious - tight calf - but is a doubt for Saturday.
  • Jordan Cropper struggling with hamstring, doesn't sound like he'll be back in time for the weekend.
  • Stephen Wearne picked up a groin injury on Tuesday and is a doubt. Severity unknown.
  • Brendan Kiernan not available as he's on-loan from Walsall.
  • Coy on transfers as usual.
  • Forest may have "mentioned" a couple of players to us.
  • No outgoings planned.
  • Danilo Orsi not ready to start at the weekend.
  • Wants to see more from JMD. Sounds like he's trying to work harder though.
  • Some interviews conducted for Head of Recruitment. Nobody offered job yet.
  • Doig generally enjoying the job. Logistics aren't ideal for him as he lives in West Midlands. Still has ambitions to be a manager in future.

Very light on options then without Kiernan and Wearne. JMD has to start and maybe two left backs with Clifton to RB and Efete at CB?

JMD will have to start on Saturday in that case, only him and Harry available, unless he goes with Amos at LB and pushes Glennon further forward. Also means Pearson will have to start as Michee is going to have to play RB.

Sounds like we may be signing a player or two from Forest in the next week then.

Terrible body language not a media natural. Left me feeling we would be lucky to come away with anything on Saturday. Reminds me of Hurst first time round but not this.

I'm not liking this JMD bashing by the media, Hurst and now Doig. He's not a striker but has scored 7 goals in 22 games for us and been instrumental in quite a few important goals. I'm sure it was his free kick that Crocombe miskicked before Holohan scored the equaliser at Notts County with 10 seconds to go and he was at the back stick to score the winner at the London Stadium. His dummy played a huge part in McAtee equalising too.

I understand his defensive game isn't brilliant and his fitness has always been a concern but if he ran up and down for 90 minutes at pace he wouldn't be at this level because technically he is very good.
