That squad is staggeringly dreadful isn't it? Bizarre when you think of the positive impact he initially made when he brought in Billy Clarke, Glennon, Benson etc and got us playing some really attractive stuff.

Makes you wonder what happened really.

There's some infinitely forgettable names in the OP's list that's for sure.

In the formation that I have shown, I cannot see us getting over run in midfield, although undoubtedly, the two wingers would have to be up and down throughout the game.

Hunt, Morris, Green and Holohan are good. But not good enough that they'll come out on top against 3 if there's only two of them.

That player list shows what a good job Hurst and the rest of the staff are doing...

I can't see Pepple starting over Taylor but who knows... I personally think we will go 4231.

Newport play 3-5-2; I don’t think you could put a four up against that in midfield and expect brilliant results.

If you have Green and Holohan in your team, plus someone else like Morris or Hunt, you won’t be getting out run or overpowered in midfield very often, regardless of the opposition. Harry’s chances are the ones I see suffering the most. Green was his top target, Holohan has been in tremendous form this year and you don’t pay 50-100k and give Hunt a 3 year deal to keep the bench warm. Orsi has looked good in the fits and starts that I’ve seen him in and Bim is an interesting prospect.

Equally, I still don’t see Taylor missing many games. His hold up and link play are fundamental to our game, especially when McAtee is fit again

Apologies, should’ve been clearer. I meant Taylor won’t miss many games if he’s available. He’s bound to miss his share at 34 with a track record of injuries. He said himself last season was his best season for about 6 years in terms of staying injury free and playing consistently.

I think we’ll do that when Maher is in full contention.

Depends on circumstances. If we win the next 3 games playing well and he’s only available 4 games from now, he won’t get a look in for a start. Waterfall will likely get suspended at some point so Maher will get a chance then.
