I didn't go last night, but from those brief highlights, it looked pretty even. I thought one of their players jumped into Crocombe a bit for the goal - turned his back but didn't make much contact. Perhaps not quite enough to be considered a foul but I've seen them given as often as not. Disappointing to be done from a set piece.

Shame the Gillingham disallowed goals weren't on there.  No clue about the 2nd one as I couldn't see from where I was sat, but the 1st one, the whistle had gone before it was headed in.

Second one was offside.

How has their goal stood? The No6 absolutely clatters Crocombe.
And before it’s said, challenges like that are deemed fouled in the six yard box.

Have to disagree, there was hardly anything in it.

We would be moaning if we had a goal disallowed for that.

“In case of body contact in the goal area between an attacking player and the opposing goalkeeper not in possession of the ball, the Referee, as sole judge of intention, shall stop the game if, in his opinion, the action of the attacking player was intentional, and award an indirect free kick.”

Pretty much exactly what their No6 did

I definitely think Crocombe took an arm or something to the face/head before their goal, just going by his body movement, but I couldn't see any foul for their first disallowed goal so maybe it evened out. The second was definitely offside.

The highlights make the game look even but apart from two 10 minute spells, Gillingham were the better side and probably deserved to win. We just weren't at the races for the most part.

I liked Taylor's near post flick in the second half though, would have been an excellent goal if it hadn't been cleared off the line.

A quick moan maybe, then get on with the game. The goalie being knocked around invariably leads to a whistle, tends to even out over a game. Their player was fouling Efete every corner, shoving him into Crocombe, No 6 then finishes the job by jumping into him.
Irony was their 2nd was whistled long before it went in, as the ref had decided to watch the antics around Crocombe and clearly saw the routine.
Not a goal, not even remotely football.

One thing I have noticed about our defending, is how our full backs leave wingers on the touchline,  and give them time to control the ball and get on run on the as they have to get out to them. We give them far too much space to work with. You can see this in the highlights were the no 7 gets the ball while Glennon is on the six yard line. They nearly score from it.
