Amazing that he seems so far ahead of his schedule. Looking at his Facebook page, he’s certainly had some dark moments. Fingers crossed there’s no setbacks.

I appreciate it's a big if but if we can keep him fit he could be absolutely huge for us for the rest of the season.

In the modern age of football there's not too many players who have come through the doors at GTFC who I've actively wanted to see them overcome their injury problems and succeed.  Max Wright was one and every time he broke down it felt like we felt the pain too.  Scannell's another.  Despite such limited game time in two years, the reaction in the crowd when his Achilles went against Maidenhead was just one of heartbreak.  To the point that it sucked the life out what was a promising start from Town into a quite abject one.

Really hope he makes a successful comeback.

Liam Hearn was another I’d add to that list. He did his cruciate right in front of me in the Lower Findus having not long recovered from a serious injury, and the pain, physical and emotional was written all over his face.

In many ways it’s slightly odd that a player in his thirties who has played just 27 times for us, the majority of those falling in the midst of our worst season in living memory, evokes such strong feelings of goodwill towards him, but it speaks volumes about the bloke and how he conducts himself.

Can’t wait to see him back in the black and white. I maintain that with the likes of Scanz, McAtee and a transfer window still to come, the second-half of our season will be very exciting.

i do hope he is put back in when he is ready

i remember last season OC and myself, were asking the question time and time again why Scans wasnt getting a look in when he'd been fit for months. he showed us all what we were missing when he finally got the game time he deserved

he's a great bloke, very down to earth, and extremely popular with teammates and fans alike, be great to get him back

Hursty said schedule would be mid December for resuming full training, he's clearly ahead of that. I'd think it would maybe be another month before he could be available for selection? That would mean we'd have McAtee and Scanz hopefully fully fit as we go into December, which always has the games coming thick and fast. I wonder if Hursty would pick Khan, McAtee and Scanz?

Also to add that over half of his appearances are ones we didn't even get to see in the flesh.  Very odd indeed.

Yep, definite agreement on the return of Scannell and McAtee having the potential to really make it a fantastic second half of the campaign.

For that month before his injury, he was the best player in the League.

I know this risks red crosses but would the person who red crossed the original post please stand up.

As others have said, for a month last season, Scanz was the stand out player in the National League. He’s got the ability to be the same in League Two. What’s more, he’s ours. More than that, the owners and the manager have shown fantastic belief in him.

If you don’t believe in the owners, the manager and the player then f*ck off.

One of my lads was lucky enough to spend a bit of time at Cheapside and Scannell went out of his way to chat to him about what courses he was looking to do and career paths he could consider. Absolute top bloke, it wasn't a quick 2 minute chat either he gave him some great advice.

Scannell seems like a genuinely top bloke and seems the perfect Hurst player in terms of application and attitude. He seems great to have around the place and the players seem to really like the bloke.

Hope he comes back and tears a few trees up…
