Not sure what's going on with Scanz. He's making the bench so presumably fit to play, but never gets a nod from El General.
Not match sharp, I presume, but as we're short of attacking options for tomorrow night against a high-class team, he's got
to get some time on the cherished sward of BP surely?

Wouldn't expect him to start (be delighted if he did) but for 20+minutes at the end...?

Think he’ll be in the squad, yeah.

I'm sure he'll be on the bench seeing that we could reach our full complement of allowed subs in the first game.

He's in the squad but at the moment we are favouring a wing back system and Scanz is more of an out and out winger. So will be an impact sub at the moment if and when we chasing the game or changing the formation

Thanks for that. I think you're probably dead right - seems a waste of his ability to me,

Be a hell of an ask for him to come in against Luton.

Possibly, but if you don't ask you don't get.

Would a 20 minute cameo be what Luton DON'T expect,  if we're in with a winning chance??

If Scannell can get back up to full-fitness a toss up of him and Emmanuel fighting for that Right-Wing Back role would have me salivating at the mouth.

You'd have to find a way of including them both. A fit Scannell, a fit Emmnauel and McAtee used right would genuinely make us one of the best teams in this league.

Has Scannell ever played wingback before?

Surprised we've not seen more of him to be honest, it's 7 weeks since he returned to the bench and we've seen him for a grand total of 12 minutes (against Salford).  Has only been on the bench in the last month in cup games (presume because of extra two places on the bench and lack of numbers against Luton in the first leg - guess tonight too).

Nice to have options but bit of an odd one, especially as invested eight months rehab in him.

The last injury he had he took and age to get a game even when supposed fit.

Hes possibly our most talented player and not getting game time i really do find odd.

Perhaps Hursty just wants him properly fit before introducing him, doesn't want a relapse to protect the lad's career. Fair to say one more and he's done if he gets another injury, he's lucky we're more accommodating as without us doing his rehab his professional career would've done anyway.

I think I've got lodged in my head him doing some good bit of play in corner of Main stand & Osmond, but that's all i was going off.

But then it would be odd to pick him for the bench, don't you think?

Maybe he's been saving him for a 4th Round FA Cup replay, but that seems more than a touch unlikely...

Think this sums it up - not sure how he's going to get properly fit without game time though.

Don't think he'll ever be fit/mobile enough now to play as a wing-back regardless of how match-fit he gets. No reason he wouldn't fit into a wide forward role (if we played 433 or 523) or as a no.10, maybe in a midfield 3 too. But can't see him as a wingback.

Let's face it, the competition for places all over the pitch is very fierce now.

What a great problem to have.
