Pretty much what I said regards ticketing prices.
Fair play for them allowing our ST holders the chance to have tickets at the discounted prices also.

Coaches

Soccer Express are running coaches to the game, and they have 1,100 places available to our supporters. Coaches will depart at 10am on the day of the game from McDonald’s on Grimsby Road and after the game they will be waiting to take fans back to Blundell Park.

Well............they might!

The bid question is once they have your money will they turn up? Their track record according to posts on here is not good.

They're certainly pushing it, fliers handed out at the turnstiles, fliers on the players' cars outside the main stand and fliers on every car within 566 miles of the ground.  They even put them in little plastic sleeves to stop them getting wet

Web site not secure, only able to book via phone. Track record questionable.

You’d think twice before parting with your money wouldn’t you??

You’d also like to think  club could work with a local company to help fans get there in some capacity

Yeah without wanting to keep going on about this, I think it’s an absolute písstake to be honest and really poor from the club.

It doesn’t take any great logistical mind to organise - book 10 coaches, sell the tickets online. Manage it yourself & there’s no need to take a profit. Need some more, book some more, the club can front the deposit

Instead you’ve got them actively promoting a firm with a patchy record, an insecure website and no contact details other than a phone number.

Lazy more than anything,

To be honest, I presumed they were trying to arrange something as they took a few days to announce ticket info after Southampton confirmed the allocation.

Can’t wait for the ticketing system to get overwhelmed at 9am tomorrow morning, even though I doubt demand outstrips supply, I imagine we’ll face a long, slow process to get tickets tomorrow

Oh right so we don't need a new ticketing system which is actually fit for purpose as fans can simply wait a few days before booking tickets?

Only a 9 minute queue this morning. Seems a bit random as to its effectiveness.

No queue in shop at 11.00am so ease of buying online this time may reflect demand. Seats are allocated they let me pick location in shop but I think online you probably get what you are given

Impressive that, given the relative lack of urgency to get a ticket.  For context, Blackpool took “just over 1,000” (no official number given) to their game there in the previous round, on a Saturday.

We’ll sell at least 3,000 in my opinion, and it still wouldn’t surprise me if we sold the full allocation. Nothing about Town fans surprises me anymore.

Yes 3k I’d say - I’d expect a lot of bulk sales to groups hiring minibuses etc when general sales start.

While we wait for the Town social media department to remember their Twitter password, anyone got any idea how many we’ve sold so far?

I’d imagine sales will be steady until tickets become available to non-STH’s towards the end of the week.

General sale typically gives a decent uplift on STH and Trust sales, I think general sale doubled the total sales for Wimbledon: I would say we are on course for at least 3k.

I think we’ll land somewhere between 3,000 and 3,500, which will be mightily impressive all things considered. As of last Friday, we had already doubled what Championship Blackpool took to Southampton for a Saturday 3pm kick-off. It doesn’t really come as a surprise anymore, but it is just incredible support.

Taking more than 50% of your average home crowd on a 500 mile, 10 hour round trip on a Wednesday night. Not many clubs could do that.

I know that 4 of my friends (exiles) are all planning to go so I'd assume they are getting their tickets sorted this morning.

I'm a ST holder but no way I can make it work out for a trip down to the game due to childcare requirements. I'd also guess 3,000 or so sales which would be more than respectable, I think.

Over 3,300 sold as of just now. Wow. Looks like my earlier prediction of between 3k and 3.5k is going to be well short. 9 days to go - surely plenty of time to shift another 700 at least.

Over 3,300 sold as of just now. Wow. Looks like my earlier prediction of between 3k and 3.5k is going to be well short. 9 days to go - surely plenty of time to shift another 700 at least.

Plenty of time to shift another 1,500 actually. Many will still be working out transport arrangements.

You might well be right. Would be absolutely incredible.

I seem to recall Crystal Palace and Chelsea fans being quite enthused by the prospect of a large, raucous away crowd, leading to both games selling out (or near as damn it).

When the draw was made I was slightly underwhelmed by the prospect of a game in a half-empty St Mary’s. I think it will be anything but.

GTFC can probably get pretty close to a final ticket sales forecast by predicting from previous sales patterns when there are plenty of tickets available. How many did we sell on the first day for the final compared to final sales? Sales usually go down alot after the first day of general sale but then there is often a late surge when people have been able to confirm time-off and travel. The notable thing is that they asked for the full allocation immediately, no feck-rsing about with asking for 3k and then for more. I think we get close to selling these.

Well it looks like we’ll crack the 4000 mark and I thought to myself 3000 would be decent for a midweek game on telly.
With the exception of maybe Bradford I don’t think there’s another club in our league that would take that many that far for a midweek game .

Mrs CummingsTackle is relatively new to watching Town and was a little taken aback by the 900 or so at Northampton on Saturday.
I have just said to her 'imagine the racket and craziness of 3,300 (and the rest!) Town fans'

Sensational effort. I would say to anyone umming and aahing that I know it's tough but if you can possibly find the money and the time then get yourself there. We all know what should happen and what will probably happen but it could be a very special night regardless. Kids will catch up what they miss over a couple of days at school but they'll never forget a night like that.

I was at school in Brigg during the 1970s miners strike, 3 day week and power cuts; all pupils were given dispensation to miss school if they wanted for Scunthorpe v Newcastle at the OSG which was midweek afternoon because they couldn't use floodlights - they got 19k at the game (lost 3-0). I would envisage a right fuss if Gy schools did that for next week.

I was at my mams house a few years ago and she had a box full of old letters .
One was from my old headmaster ( who had fought in WW2 and had a bit of a life outside of education) replying to my mum after her asking if she could take me out of school for a couple of weeks to go to Bahrain to see my dad who was working there.
Anyway the headmaster said don’t worry about missing school , he’ll learn more from travelling and have memories that’ll last a lifetime .

I remember me leaving school early to go to some midweek cup games watching Town at Everton Villa , Coventry  ect and those memories are still with me .
I can’t remember any of my double maths lessons and to be fair didn’t get any GCSEs 😂

For those who live in Grimsby, I’ll raise your 500 and suggest 600 miles - I went there last year, and it was further that Glasgow!!

Limerick Mariner. I was also at the scunny v Newcastle game, as you said, I was at the old Glanford school in Brigg, and I know we went on a bus which I believe the school organised, went in the Newcastle end, even though I whatched Town from the pontoon them Newcastle fans were something different.

Oof that's a bold claim but I like it. I think the vast majority wanting a ticket will have got them today, can't really imagine there's still 1/3 waiting to get theirs but hope i'm wrong. A win tomorrow night and pay days towards the end of the week will help keep the trickle going. Would be brilliant if we could shift 4000

Yep, you would think there will be a fair few tickets sold at the club in the run up to / after the match tonight. I’d certainly expect us to be north of 4,000 in 24 hours time. Even that would represent 85% of the sizeable allocation. Mental.

And then a few more on Saturday as plenty of people won't be able to make it tonight but probably can on Saturday.

Maybe a small surge next Tuesday given it's pay day too. I'm thinking 4,250 personally.

I’d challenge anyone to do that trip without at least one urine stop 😂

I drive to Pompey on my own a few years ago just on the spur of the moment and managed it with one stop each way .
Mind you I think we was 4-0 down at half time and regretted my impulsive decision 😏

Funny you say that. Cutting a long story short I drove 280 miles non stop a few times to meet a girl, who is now my son's mother, after a 12hr driving shift at Asda!
Surprising what a youngsters would do for a weekend of fun 😄

I’m pretty sure that I’ve not missed a tie against top flight opposition since maybe ‘96, but i can’t make this k e because of work (midweek, seriously?!!). I’m gutted.

Obviously Southampton aren’t one of the superpowers, but I’m missing out here . Very jealous. However, I think this will  be the greatest Town TV moment, and we could win.

So proud of the fans for doing this, it’s astonishing.

But it’ll be nothing compared to the 1/4 Final! Can you imagine?!

I do wonder about those tickets. Not often, just in my darker moments.

For the playoff semi at Wrexham we ended up with a couple of tickets we’d cadged off a squad member and the lower section around us was nearly all players’ friends & families, most in groups of 4 or 5.

I think each player gets a couple of comps and then has to pay for any more they want. Surely they must all come out of the same pot? Might also explain why there’s always 50-odd away fans missing even when we’ve sold out, if most of the squad take their comps & don’t end up using them.

Just called the ticket office to enquire when the Southampton tickets I'd paid for over the phone on Monday morning would arrive in the post, only to be told they'd forgotten to process/send them to me. Glad I phoned but annoyed I wasted my time on Monday getting tickets, only to be bumped to the back of the queue with the tickets we'll now have. Hopefully this is a one-off incident for fans who ordered over the phone.

It was 4,087 roughly this time yesterday. Expect we might shift a few more with it being payday today for many and some last minute FOMO setting in for others. We’ll land between 4,200 and 4,300 at a guess.

A friend of mine thought we'd struggle to take 2k with it being midweek, so far away and on TV. I said I thought we'd shift at least 3k which he said, no way. Looks like even  I underestimated our fantastic supporters.

I wonder if they’ll put the remaining tickets on the gate for pay on the day?

I noticed in the accounts the total GTFC sales at the final was stated to be 16k. I think the last reported number was just under 14k. Solihull sold 6k, I wondered at the time where the 3k neutrals were from. The extras were probably exiles making a late decision and dragging along family and friends.

This might be the first Town game ever where I'm not too bothered if we win, draw or lose (of course I want us to win!) - as long as the team have a go we'll be fine.

With 4200 of us it is going to be a great night.

Honestly in terms of distance travelled, midweek, on tv, as a % of their average home crowd this has to be the most impressive following to ever come to St Mary's , almost want them to win after all that effort

High praise indeed. I also want us to win.

1 of the year 6s is a big bristol city fan at the school I work at. Bristol is an hours drive from here. His family collected him at 2pm (6hrs before kick off) to get him up to Bristol in good time and enjoy his day/evening.
This is what it's about. A shame they're 1-0 down but I'm sure he will be buzzing tomorrow in school (likewise myself for tomorrow night!)

From my island paradise vantage I wish all Fishies the safest of journies to and from Southampton for all and, of course the most miraculously good performance by the team to take us through to the quarter-finals. UTM!!!!!

The 15k figure could be including the ticket we have sold.
