Do you get them at our level?

Perhaps the word should be 'compete'.

I've seen a few in the opposition this season.

Simple answer is no
They are much of a muchness
Very good on their day but far too inconsistent

I think that's where our problems were in the main yesterday - out-thought, out-muscled... no one to out their stamp on the game

We didn't win enough second balls to then try and play our game

We simply couldn’t handle the physical battle that Colchester brought to the table. Of all our outfield players, only Waterfall was taller than 6ft. They meanwhile had no less than 6 who met the criteria.

I think it’s no coincidence that we’ve performed better against teams in higher divisions this season. We’re a decent, hard working team, but we badly lack the physicality needed to perform consistently in League Two. Of course it’s not as simple as signing a load of 6ft 5” lumps, but it is something we need to address in the summer.

Khan at Swindon (ex Chesterfield) probably one of the better ones I’ve seen this season in stopping opposition play. To be honest the little fella they had yesterday (Greaves?) did very well, in a game that was hard to excel in.

Yesterday was another game where the physical presence of Ryan Taylor was obviously missed. It’s not easy when you’re a midfielder looking to play forward when the movement around you is poor either. Lloyd was very effective at moving two centre backs around at Crewe but was bullied out of it yesterday and, sad to say that McAtee seemed to lose interest too.

Talking to someone after the game, they made the point that taking Hunt off at half time actually made us worse.

How are you defining "dominate a game"? There have been several matches this season that we've taken points because our midfield has outran and outfought the opposition. Newport away, Holohan was immense and Harry and Morris got the goals that won it. Stockport away again, midfield was absolutely boss. Both Luton games, both Crewe games, Walsall away... basically every time we've won the midfield has been very good. A good midfield is a unit not a single player.

I'd argue that we've dropped points more due to defensive errors and a lack of creativity or being clinical than we have through poor midfield endeavour.
