Did not know that if we win we make FAC history.  Only club to beat 5 teams from higher leagues in the same cup- run.  According to ITV4 anyway.

(Plus beating 3 higher-placed teams in the playoffs).

There isn’t that much difference between their first team and squad players. Apart from Ward-Prowse and Bella-Kotchap are key and on the bench. Bazunu ‘rested’ but probably dropped in reality. The two new forwards aren’t in the squad but they’re not definitely first choice (Sulemana & Onuachu). Maitland-Niles on the bench but again, not a definite first choice.

BBC Sports news bulletin earlier sensationalising that Town haven’t been this far in the Cup this century. Whilst true, it would have been more kind to say since 1996.

It’s basically the lazy equivalent of saying I haven’t nibbled on my Mum’s nipple this century!!

Interesting stat about James Ward-Prowse on ITV; if he’d have been born 20 years earlier he’d have over 100 England caps, be married to Emma Bunton and have a history of tax avoidance second only to Wesley Snipes.

The VAR ref must have sneaked off for an early half time todd and had to sprint back with his pants around his ankles. Can’t see any other way it took that long to make the decision!

When you have to turn the commentators up because the away crowd is drowning them out its already a good game.

Easy decision for the pen how it took VAR and the ref that long I don't know.

At the game. Took an age to give it but got there at the end. Couldn't see what happened from the other end but when it came up on the screen, OMG. Queue pandemonium, ended tup five rows forward!

We are coping with them so far, looking composed. Max hasn't got had that much to deal with.

Atmosphere in the away end mental, as it was in the city centre.  20 walk to the stadium never saw a red scarf.

Going to remember that one for a long time. Real battling performance against a young but athletic and technically gifted side who had a ton of possession. After the second rather foolish penalty was given away the veteran players came on and they got back into it. Thank god we had VAR available for the tightest of offsides to deny and equaliser.

Just went to get another beer out of the fridge and went down with the Crocombe Cramp!

Brilliant result, but I don't think it was anywhere near our best Cup performance this season. Didn't need to be against a very uninspired Southampton team, despite the goals disallowed by VAR. If I was a betting man, I'd have my money on them going down this season.

The new Southampton manager thought it would be a cake walk and, fatally, undersetimated Town. He clearly had no idea about the FA Cup and the shocks it produces. Probably looking at around 1m+ for the next game.
Tried my hardest for a swap today and couldn't get it even when I finished driving would of cut it short. Hate missing town games as it is but must admit sunk just under two crates watching the match, Thought we would of put 11 behind the ball after the 2nd but Hurst is a funny little sodomist. Please just get behind him. I was never his biggest fan the first spell but didn't realise what was going on behind the scenes. This man does love the club through and through and will be here through the good and the excrement.The League was a learning curve this year. Hurst will release 7 or 8 players and replace them. Hurst builds squads not 11's. Watch this comment a year from now when we are sitting in the playoffs.
