or even 3-2-2-3

Looking at the team I'll be looking at how we line up, it will be interesting.

The bench looks strong so Hursty is out for a win.

I think this is the first time this season that McAtee and Talor made a start together, lets's hope they link up well as they did last year.

I wonder how long Hursty’s psychedelic phase is going to last.

Hurst’s Nut Gone Flake.

He certainly can’t be accused of being dour as he’s throwing the kitchen sink at this one.

It’s the equivalent of taking a crate of prosecco to a parents’ evening.

C’mon Town.

It'll be the usual.
3 at the back.
2 wing backs.
2 cdms (Holohan Morris)
2 attacking Central midfielders (Lloyd Mcatee)
Lone striker (Taylor)

Its a bit like the Sutton game laast week so far, both teams playing well, open game, ref letting things flow.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Exciting game so far, lots of action. Impressed by the ref who has let the game flow instead of blowing his whistle over every minor infringement and 50/50 challenge.

Most open 45 minutes this season . Mcatee different player playing off Taylor and Lloyd . Emmanuelle also a class above better without Efete and vice versa. Should be 2 ahead.

We should’ve scored 5! Brilliant build up play and it’s not like they’ve all been bad misses, just unlucky.

Great game

We look like we have zero confidence in front of goal again, all these easy chances missed is indicative of a lack of confidence. Not sure what effect the wind is having but we seem to be losing a  lot of 1st balls in the midfield

Bit harsh. We've been unlucky in a lot of respects and could have had a couple already. Hit the post and had players fumble/slip at the crucial moment.

Great to see us play so positively with our front three linking up well. The missed chances would be extremely annoying if we had anything left to play for.

really good performance . Looks like we've gained a great deal of confidence from Sunday - Maher, Glennon, Holohan etc look really confident and comfortable whilst we've added the class of Taylor, McAtee and Emmanuel

PS Lloyd has a  touch of McAtee about him. Impossible, but would love Loyd n Emmanuel to stay with us next year

No its because he's excrement. He's annonimous in games 90% of the time he plays and when he isn't, he can't pass, static off the ball, lets his man run away from him and chickens out of tackles.

Played a lot better than we did against Sutton where we scraped a result against a really poor team. Feel like this one we won't get a result and people will focus on only that to decide how the performance was. The only negative for the last 20 minutes is how much we loft the ball into the air playing to the strengths of every team that finds these gigantor players.

Think that was a game that highlighted what we all already knew: we need someone capable of consistently sticking it in the net.

Enjoyed the game though and again showed that we can mix it with the better sides. First half they struggled to cope with us, second we were under pressure but defended really well. Plenty of potential in this team.

Disappointed because that game should have been out of sight in the first 30 mins, our midfield was plain awful too.

Positives, that was the most entertaining 0-0 draw I’ve seen in years, defence was all outstanding (special mentions for Emmanuel and waterfall, they looked a different class today). We seemed to have absorbed a bit of Brighton’s tiki-taka play it out from the back style and it would have worked great with a better midfield. Overall if we keep playing with that attacking style the rest of the season the goals will go in and the wins will come. Overall unbeaten in 4 in the league always happy to not lose and as there’s no chance of the playoffs why not give Essel 90 mins next time out see what he’s about?

I agree with you. We needed a win to do anything near a promotion push and it hasn't happened. Now is the time for Hurst to plan for next season and 1878 to give him his budget early.

Decent game with some good performances, I think we look more solid with Smith. Thought Morris played well despite the predictable groan every time he didn’t find the perfect pass..

I’ve got to say, JT’s comms in recent years have been poor and tonight they were dreadful. Makes me wonder what the hell I was listening to over the years before ifollow.

Good result in the end but sums up our past 8 games.

Defense has started to rediscover early season form but unfortunately no killer instinct up top in poised games for much of the season.

Other than Bradford and donny, no other teams would bring close to that to BP. That’s mad. We’re 15th, just lost 5-0, and it’s a bloody Wednesday, for god’s sake!!

Players gave it a go and a positive selection, good away point considering the opposition, schedule and such a big weekend in the cup. Thought Glennon was really good tonight again as was Smith also Morris looked much more solid, we need to pass the ball better but that#s been the case all season.

More importantly our support was/is magnificent, what did Kristine tweet? 1100+ travelled and made noise, great that considering the weekend just gone, cost of away trips and overall cost of football alongside the cost of living, absolutely magnificent.

Happy with a point and a clean sheet away to one of the better sides in the league.

Hoping now that we can finish a few places higher and a positive goal difference would be good. I think that would make a good first season back in the EFL on top of the cup exploits.

The day we beat Wrexham in the National League play-offs, Mansfield were playing in the League Two play-off final.

They were no better than us. We’ve come a long way.

Suppose before iFollow we had no reason to question anything, given he was our only eyes. Put his comms on top of video and then you realise some of his calls are... interesting.

I criticised him once on Twitter, he sent me a really @rsy message pretty much saying he’s blocking me as I don’t agree with him. I like that he sent me the message I like that he blocked me.

Agree too, listening to his comments while watching the game is like watching a different game to the one he is watching.

Think that was a game that highlighted what we all already knew: we need someone capable of consistently sticking it in the net.

Enjoyed the game though and again showed that we can mix it with the better sides. First half they struggled to cope with us, second we were under pressure but defended really well. Plenty of potential in this team.

Agree, a Poacher who can stick away those chances 6 yards out.

Well the lack of any width/pace evident again for me, along with an inability to pass/keep the ball, but barring that good performance - tailed off 2nd half but probably expected.

Crocombe distribution very poor (again), needs addressing. Smith was very good, Emmanuel good first half - poor second, Last me should’ve scored and had another ‘moment’ late on but been outstanding all season, I like Maher..battler, throw ins useful but never work..not enough pace on them and looped rather than flat..easier to defend, Glennon played well again, think Holohan needs a rest, Morris can’t pass, makes errors but battled well tbf (need better though imho), McAtee better last night, Lloyd battled but little joy from their decent centre back, Taylor won everything 1st half..tired second. Forward line not helped by feeding on scraps..hence the earlier width/pace remark.

Saturday I’d maybe change Clifton, Green for Holohan,Morris.

When we watched i follow with the awful away commentators during covid I really appreciated how good JT was. His knowledge and enthusiasm for Town are second to none, but he seems to have drifted off course lately.

Last night he alluded to how well Lloyd was doing holding the ball up etc. only for it to be McAtee. Thankfully I was watching the game on TV but if I had been listening on the radio then what difference would I have known? I believe Croft did correct him, but the match had moved on. This is regrettably one of many mistakes he has made this year.

So respectably I think it's time for JT to hang up his microphone at the end of the season and retire gracefully with his integrity intact.

It's interesting you called out lack of width, I can't get my head around it when you look at the formation and that we have the likes of Emanuel, Amos, Effete and Glennon who can get forward, maybe it's down to the poorness of our passing and ability to hold the ball in mid field so that player can make runs, I'm no tactician but it feels like there is a disconnect.

Passing was good first half. Thought Gav faded badly and it was inevitable that Ryan would.

Alot of pitch watering by Mansfield - think they did that last time I was there. Perhaps makes it a bit stamina-sapping - especially for the older ones?
