Our biggest home win of the season in the league will come on Monday.

Anybody with a season ticket who won't be going will miss a 5. -  0. Win.

You wouldn’t be saying that if you knew where the players were off too this week 😂😂

For anyone (ie prospective player) who has a quick glance at the end of season league table, their perspective between us finishing in 10th, three places off the play-offs, and 14th, bottom half, could be more significant than we think..

Where did I criticise him? He was right to. We scraped up by the skin of our teeth in 2016.

Robertson retired. We didn’t really try (as a club) to retain Toto, Amond, Nolan and Tait. Nathan Arnold left. Monkhouse was put out to stud. Craig Clay was realeased along with a swath ot squad players.

Other than Craig Clay & not making competitive offers to Toto, Amond & Nolan (who wouldn’t have stayed anyway) that was the correct outcome.

A complete rebuild was needed whether we had been promoted or not.

Needs more context tbh. Nolan went to Chesterfield who at the time were a league one club. Toto, by his and Hursts admission was done here, for various reasons that we shouldn’t drag up again. Tait went to a decent sized SPL club.

Amond and Arnold were the the big frustrating ones and you’d have to look back and say we should’ve kept Clay too tbh.

I think PH is unhappy with the way this season has gone, and has clearly been frustrated at times, but like us he realises that because we unexpectedly got promoted last season, it was pretty much a make do and mend season for this one. Had he been able to get a couple of goal scorers over the line, we may well have won a good few more points, because we weren't that far away from winning more games.

Good thing is, we are now established in League 2, with more preparation time and a decent budget.

Basically, we are now in the position we would have been last season had he been able to keep us up 2 years ago and I think the squad has done a remarkable job to get us to where we are now, but it's time to say thanks and goodbye to a lot of them.

I expect us to be much better in the coming season and looking up, rather than spending yet another season worrying about being too near the bottom.

Totally agree with this, I always enjoy reading your posts ginny as you always give a reasoned assessment.

As long as we play some good football and stick to our game plan, then we should get a win.  For far too many games, we get dranw into the other teams way of  playing and do woefully.

Swapping Craig Clay for James Berrett was the single biggest aberration of Hurst’s two reigns here. Well that, and signing Anthony Straker.

Strange little phase Hursty went through that, signing 2010-16 edition York City players like he was collecting Pokémon. Thankfully it’s the other way round now.
