Do you wish for a town win and we are 3 points closer to safety but Artell keeps his job or do you wish for Town to lose and Artell is sacked?
I have never wished for Town to lose but if it meant we take a step back to move forward, I think I would take it.

We need points and safety , the time for players and the other staff's feelings has gone now. This club cannot afford to be relegated again as I doubt we'd ever come back

3 points! Anyone who wishes for anything else needs to question their motives. I want Artell out as much as anyone, but not at a further risk of relegation. I’d actually love him to turn it round, get us safe and turn out to be a really good appointment.

Do I want Artell to go after Saturday? Yes, I do - I think that’d be the right move for the club at this precarious time.
But assuming he’s still here for Morecambe, and all signs suggest he will be, this is not the time to be wishing defeat on the manager to help usher him out the door.
I’m hoping and praying for 3 points. Whether I expect those prayers to be answered is another matter.

A win obviously. There is no other way to look at it. There is no guarantee of any outcomes even if he was sacked so we simply have to survive otherwise we will lose fans hand over fist and be back to square one.

Early red card for Morecambe, a clean sheet and somewhere safe to park my car. Whole team come over at the final whistle to applaud the fans to a rousing chorus of Sean and Ben's Black and White Army!

3 points would be perfect but the way we’ve been conceding I’d be delighted with a clean sheet.
Losses for Forest Green and Sutton would be delightful.

I’ll be honest, I just want success for my team. If it’s Artell that achieves this then great. I’ve no particular agenda against him, but I do think things are pretty untenable right now. That’s not my decision though so I’ll go back to wanting the only thing that matters and that is three points.

As much as I want him out the safety of gtfc comes first so 3 points from anywhere is imperative.
His position is untenable. There’s no way he’s winning the fans back . I still can’t believe hasn’t been sacked . It’s bordering on disgusting.

Normal. I want normal. A normal, at times even drab 1st half that we get to at 0-0, then all to play for 2nd half.
What I don't want.. Opposition to score with their first attempt on goal. Opposition to score with their second attempt on goal. Danny Rose to have around 5 touches in the whole game. Clearly under-performing players (ie Eisa on Saturday) HOOKED with 30 minutes of clearly under-performing. Either centre back to have possession in opponents half. Just mop up, give the ball to a lively, willing CM to advance play. A lively, willing CM. 100% concentration with the ball AND without.
This is normal for other (normal) teams.

It’s Tuesday and I’m back in Yorkshire, have my usual feeling of optimism in that it can’t surely get any worse and we’ll actually turn up and put a show on and get three points. I’m desperate enough to feel I’m going to go to Morecambe and see what happens for myself. I’ll have everything crossed and support best I can. UTM!

A win, a draw would still be a poor result for me and I would question Artell with a draw. For me this is a must win game. Forget a point is decent away from home. Simply put up or shut up. Any sort of win needed but nothing less as this is at all time low levels and compensation is needed and for me a draw is not enough utm

To turn my phone on at interval (Theatre) and parting of the waves of The Red Sea = Town to have a WIN ,nothing to elaborate but 1-2 to us . Like other football clubs do with a good 90 mins game where players know what they are (Reheased/ Practised / trained). So come the Wimbledon & Sutton games it be a pleasure to stand next to fellow "Mariners" and not cringing looking through my fingers. UTM

A win, because we need the points and I am not sure it would force the owners to sack him if we lost.
From Jason’s statement it looks like they plan to see it our with Artell, but I suspect a heavy home defeat by FGR might make his position untenable.
I hope we grind out a point at Morecambe and beat FGR. The table might look much better if that happens and it is possible that one win might ease the pressure and get some positive momentum going. There are still 15 games to go, so all is not lost yet.

1 A win for the Mariners 2 Forest Green and Sutton both involved in mass brawls amongst their own team, several important players receiving 3 match bans, in return they also receive a points deduction for not controlling their players.
I know I’m being ridiculous here, town will not win 😉🤣

I've had the same thoughts - if it's a win for town and also FG and Sutton OR a defeat for town and defeats for FG and Sutton I'd pick the latter. As it might just get Artell out and I think we'd then have more chance of staying up in that scenario than still being with Artell and village green getting on a roll, even if we had fluked 3 points.
If we are only talking about what town do then yeah it has to be 3 points.

Obviously three points for Town.
I appreciate that plenty have completely lost faith in DA, but imo the best-case scenario (which I’m certain must be the board’s view) is that we scrape through to safety and DA has the chance to completely wipe the slate clean in the summer and build a team capable of playing his game. The board must be desperate for that to happen.
FWIW I don’t think DA is stupid, or a charlatan, but I think he has been naïve in trying to get this group of players playing in this way, or at least spending so long trying to get them playing in this way. We’ve seen his coaching come to fruition only in fits and starts, and whilst those glimpses have shown a progressive, pleasing-on-the-eye style, this group is clearly incapable of performing in that way, consistently, across 90 minutes.
DA needs thinking footballers, players who assess what to do with the ball when they get it and judge whether to go through the lines or chip over the top. DA knows this – he’s mentioned about the need to mix things up previously – but I just don’t think our bunch of cloggers are smart enough for it. In fact, this group has a lot of psychologically-weak players.
This isn’t a meant to be an ode to DA – I’m as amazed as the rest of us that he wasn’t sacked after Donny. I could see him being a perfectly good candidate, if he’s parachuted into an environment which is already set up for him, but we’re about as far removed from what he needs to succeed – players-wise – as it can be.

3 points and an emphatic win. The best possible scenario is Artell wins and goes on to be the most successful manager in Town's history. I might have criticised DA but it's nothing personal.
An unlucky defeat would be the worst outcome though as there might be the temptation to limp on.

I’d just like the majority of men wearing town colours on the pitch to actually give a intercourse. To properly try their hardest to be the best they can be for 95 - 100 mins.
Agree And the more Crewe fans feedback I get in regards their recruitment in the relegation season ,the more I shudder that he somehow retains his position . The counter argument is he's maybe learnt lessons from that and would go about it in a different way - he's only done it once so it's not like he's failed multiple times . Do the board trust him to recruit what 15 -20 players ? It would be a hell of a gamble if he remains in situ if he retains our league status , because it won't be evolution , it will be revolution for sure that's required.

I reckon there’s a good chance you might get half of your wish (and by that, I don’t meant a 5-0 Town win).

For sure. If we stay up, we need a massive revolution. One of those windows where a huge turnover of players is imperative, otherwise we’ll just be in the same position again this time next year. Worth remembering that recruitment wouldn’t solely rest on DA’s shoulders. At Crewe he did everything, and he was keen to stress that that isn’t the case with Town. Presumably that's the whole point of Hutchinson? All the coaches will discuss the type of players they want, but Hutchinson is the one who does the majority of the player-hunting and persuading them to join. Maybe having someone to essentially provide him with a squad of players as per his instructions would be perfect for how DA works – we’ve just got to pray that he can squeeze enough out of the current lot to survive. I'd wager that both DA and the owners knew that the current squad would be dismantled fairly sharpish as players more in the DA mould were brought in, but it must have come as quite a shock when it turned out the current squad/DA were incompatible.

I agree with a lot you say, but what are we to make of how good the existing players were against MK, Crewe, Salford, and large parts of the games against Walsall and Notts? In those last 2 we should really have been out of sight by half time. I can quite understand Artell saying we were far too good to go down as it is difficult to believe now but we played some great football during those games. Like everyone else I am bemused why every opposition shot seems to go in whilst ours don't, and the sudden collapse in form.

Hope , that’s all I ever want as a football ( town) fan . Under Fenty there was none , I don’t count non league success at all but the play off run under PH is as good as it’s got for 22 years. I thought JS would bring Hope in the EFL but alas it’s alluding them too . I may rant on here and post rubbish but hand on my heart I just need Hope 🙏🙏🙏

A 10-0 victory to us.
I think I might suffer a disappointment though.
Remember the game at Boston when we were 4-0 up at halftime? I think we had lost several games on the trot without scoring and everyone went into the game expecting the worst. I remember looking around at halftime and the entire away end had Cheshire-cat grins, everyone was in shock. Normal service resumed not long after and even the second half wasn't on the same level but for 45 minutes we were a well-oiled machine, perfectly in the zone. That might have been the season when there were 6 Lincolnshire derbies - Scunny, Lincoln and Boston and I think that was the only one we won.

This is why I think we have a psychologically-weak team. It’s all fine and dandy when things are going ok, but as soon as we come up against any kind of crisis (which is often brought about by a lapse in concentration or some other stupid mistake) we wilt or completely implode. I don’t really know how you address that without simply bringing in a load of new faces.

In the last 2 home games from the start (a selected and combined 36 mins) we have conceded 5 goals.
So, progress would be “only” conceding 4 goals in less than 36 mins. And away from home.
This is in itself an appalling outcome.

We’re not going to win are we? Not a chance I mean I’d be surprised if we managed to concede less than 4. So the best outcome is Artell getting sacked. It’s the only realistic and possible outcome I can see as three points is impossible while he is in charge

I think DA was lucky at the time it wasn’t widely criticised. A pretty ballsy or now stupidly arrogant comment to make in his first interview. Got to say it was the one comment that instantly made me prickle and think just who do you think you are saying that about OUR club ?! I’m sort of glad he’s failed because of it , but given the perilous position we’re in that’s a bit trite on my behalf , so don’t want to sink to his level. Total tw.at of a guy . Well yeah ,,, I know 🤣 but to say it in his first interview doesn’t exactly endear him to the fan base and pretty much meant he had to succeed. Unfortunately for him he’s managed to become the worst manager in the club’s history ?!

I think he got away with it on the grounds that he was correct. Of course, what's worse than being "meh" is being an absolute disaster zone, which is what we have become under Artell. There's nothing wrong with arrogance, provided you've got the chops to back it up. We are finding out the hard way that he hasn't.

Injury time winner (for us) and a clean sheet.
Colchester, FGR and Sutton all lose.
Oh yeah the Brucie bonus would be Artell talks about the game afterwards and not himself.

And mine was a tongue in cheek comment about wishing 3 Morecambe players to be sent off. My plan is to be at The Globe on Saturday and see for myself how the play is. Remember Peter Bore having a blinder at Christie Park a few years ago. Also, GrimRob remembering Town mullering Boston on February 4th 2007 - Peter Bore again with 3. Who is the new Peter Bore?
