Beat the Bookies: Week 23

WHAT a gut-wrenching weekend it was with our FA Cup tips. Both Man Utd (against West Ham) and Hull City (against Leyton Orient) scored late equalisers that lost us substantial winnings. It meant every bet lost, but we take consolation in they were good bets which just fell short!

Town have a tricky looking try at Welling! Normally we'd recommend Welling as they are in such good form, and are a difficult side to beat. However the Grimsby team is in such a state of flux at the moment that it's hard to know how good the Mariners are right now. Leave well alone, or back the home win if you think Town's changes won't give the new look team a chance to gel in time.

Premier League

  • Norwich v Newcastle - away win (3.5, 888 Sport). Both sides are in poor form but Newcastle seem to have been playing the better of the two.

    Championship

  • Hull v Sheff Wed - away win (6.03, Pinnacle). A very attractive away price for this Yorkshire derby. Yes, Hull are in good form, but underachievers Wendy will doubtless up their game against local rivals.

    League One

  • Stevenage v Doncaster - away win (2.75, Betfred). Donny seem virtually unbeatable at the moment

    League Two

  • Rotherham v Barnet - away win (7.5, Bet365). Barnet are one of the form sides of League Two at the moment, and managed to beat Bradford recently. A great price!
  • Bradford v Oxford Utd - away win (4.06, Pinnacle). Bradford have obviously got their minds on other things, the various cups they are involved with. Oxford are going great guns,

    FA Trophy

  • Gateshead v Barrow - away win (5.5, Bet 365). When Gateshead have managed to play recently they've been pretty awful. They haven't played at home since November so Barrow should be more match fit.
  • Sutton v Wrexham - home win (6.2, Marathon). Sutton have been winning virtually every game of late. Wrexham's priority is the league.
  • Dartford v Bromley - away win (6.0 Totesport). The Darts have collapsed of late, and they keep throwing leads away - never a good sign.
