Not sure about that - plenty of people on here (and I think even Hurst) had mentioned how good a finisher he was, a poacher. The problem is he was never going to be a 20-goal striker under Hurst because he played Orsi with his back to goal doing donkey work for other people.

Err no, here's me pointing out how prolific he actually was in the thread from last June when we released him - https://forum.thefishy.co.uk/Blah.pl?m-1688058099/id-1658770#num30

Labelling him as someone who scored 4 goals in 32 appearances is deeply misleading when you consider he made 21 of those appearances as a sub and only had 3 games all season where he played the entire match and wasn't substituted. If you've got a player on the books who's scoring at a rate of 1 goal every 3 full games played (as Orsi was when you look deeper into his record at town) and has looked impressive against higher opposition in the cup run, you shouldn't be letting him leave on a free. It's revisionist to suggest there wer

This Man Utd supporting bloke I know gets very stressed about how much he's definitely not bothered about Man City. How not bothered he is makes me laugh, so hopefully they keep winning stuff whilst Man Utd keep pissing away money on shit players whilst the stadium falls down.

Orsi looks a different player to when hehe was here. No guarantee our coaching would have got the same out of him. Credit to their staff what they turner him into.

Didnt go on a free- nominal fee wasnt it?

ā€œNominal feeā€ just means Crawley covered all or some of our costs for terminating his contract without him having put a transfer request in.

You seem to be suggesting we made some money out of Orsi when the truth is we didnā€™t make a penny out of offloading him.

He got us promoted twice and to an FA cup quarter final. Nobody cared that he didn't follow the data then. To think he went stale 6 months on from achieving the unthinkable for us is deluded. He'd have turned last season around given the chance and I'd expect we'd have finished higher than we did. That's irrelevant though because the owners didn't want him.

Artell and data may turn out to be the best thing since sliced Buckley for us, but it's way too early to call success having beaten a few teams with nothing to play for at the end of an awful season. The irony shouldn't be lost that we improved after reverting to Hurst style tactics after being so publicly critical of them just weeks earlier.

Man Utd v Arsenal   (reply) Posted by: It Bites

I was only half watching the game, but it looked to me as though Arsenal were just going through the motions because they think it has already gone. Probably has, as well.

Wouldn't it be great if Citeh eventually got pulled up for their financial doping over the years and they were retrospectively stripped of some of their trophies? I'm sure the FA won't allow that to happen. One rule for the big boys, one for the others.

City can afford to drag it through the courts . No one else can . Theyā€™ll be fine

Given the obscurity of his league of trade, thereā€™s very little information available about this bloke. However, according to Football Manaher heā€™s currently better than anyone currently or recently on our books with far greater potential. Given Football Managerā€™s never been wrong about any young prospect, ever, so thatā€™s good enough for me if we are indeed in for this chap.
