Trio Sign On Loan

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 31/08/2016

GRIMSBY have signed three new players on transfer deadline day. 24-year-old striker Shaun Tuton has joined from Barnsley on a season long loan deal, 19-year-old Man Utd 'keeper Dean Henderson and Midfielder Brandon Comley (QPR) have both also signed on loan until January.

24-year-old Shaun Toton started his career in non-league, chiefly at Halifax, before moving to Barnsley. He has just started on the bench this season at Oakwell, so should relish the chance to play alongside his teammate Kayden Jackson, also on loan from the Tykes.

Dean Henderson will provide backup and competition to James McKeown who has not got off to the greatest start this season and has made mistakes which have resulted in goals. Henderson has never made the Man Utd first team but played for Stockport last season and has represented England U-20.

Town have been light in central midfield recently, partly as a result of the injury to Sean McAllister and Brandon Comley will provide cover until the end of the year. The 20-year-old has played for Carlisle on loan as well a few appearances for the West London side.

  • Town lost 5-2 last night in the Checkatrade Trophy at Walsall.
