Handyside In Reserves Appearance

News From 30th March 2000

Peter Handyside Centre back Peter Handyside started for the reserves in Tuesday night's creditable 1-0 victory over a strong Wolves team at Blundell park.

Handyside, playing with a plate and pins in his ankle, managed to play for 75 minutes before being substituted by Town assistant manager John Cockerill.

Between them Handyside and Matthew Bloomer, the two Town centre backs, managed to shackle the two Wolves front men Ade Akinibiyi and George Ndah, who weigh in at a combined cost of £4.5m

Young midfielder Michael Rogan scored the winning goal in the closing stages to give the players and fans alike something to smile about, after some poor results of late.

Reserves: Croudson, Ward, Handyside, Bloomer, Chapman, Smith, Rogan, Pouton, Buckley, Nicholls, Allen, Ashcroft, Butterwood, Rowan, Gibson, Cocksworth.
