More Stadium Delay

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 17/11/2000

Town Vice Chairman Bryan Huxford has issued a statement via the Message Board of the club's official web site. The statement concerns a further delay of the meeting of NELC to re-consider the decision not to alter the council's draft local plan to allow a new stadium to be built in Great Coates.

The statement reads as follows:

"At the request of professional representatives of the Great Coates Civic Society, NE Lincs Council have agreed to postpone the meeting planned for 22 Nov 00, when they were to re consider the A180 site as the site best suited for the new home of GTFC, this meeting will now be Wednesday 6 Dec 00.

"Whilst GTFC is dissapointed at this further delay, the Club is happy to accommodate this change of timing if it will ensure that the democratic process has been fair to all parties.

"All GTFC supporters, whether regular visitors to this Message Board or not, are asked to transfer their attendance plans to the new date.

"GTFC does not wish to appear non democratic and therefore we ask all supporters to accept this further unfortunate delay with "good grace". It is to our advantages to be magnanomous in situations like this and it should assist our course, however let it be known that magnaminity does not show weakness but that our resolve is even greater."
