Grimsby Town could be given an extra £50,000 from Sky TV if they choose to screen the game between the Mariners and Blackburn live this Tuesday. Grimsby will learn the final decision by Sunday night, if the race for second spot remains open.

This season the mariners have featured only once live in front of the Sky cameras when they defeated West Brom 2-0. Since, they have not been involved in any live coverage, whilst many other clubs have been featured several times.

Last season Grimsby were screened live twice, the first was at home to Norwich City, a game the Mariners won 2-1, and finally at Barnsley where they lost 3-0. Now Blundell Park will be hoping results go their way at the other end of the table so that the TV company choose to host a significant promotion match.

It will bring with it £50,000, which will help the finances at the club. Town will now be hoping that they can continue their winning ways by beating Sheffield United this weekend to enter the possible live match in winning form.
