Taylor U-Turn

ROBERT Taylor has been released by Grimsby Town and is going back to his roots by joining Colchester United after just signing a four month short-term contract with Grimsby

U's boss Steve Whitton has had to get a striker to try and combat the goal drought the U's have faced since the start of the season - so the former Wolves striker will feel immediately at home having just left goal-shy Blundell Park.

Having scored 144 goals at his previous clubs the former Wolves forward will be an asset to Colchester. 6"2 Taylor starts training with his new team mates on Monday morning, and being born in nearby Norwich, will want and try a permanent contract at Colchester, after failing to impress at Blundell Park.

Taylor twice damaged his Achilles tendon in his two brief spells at Grimsby Town, most recently against Bradford as well as receiving a red card last season, also against the Bantams, and has consequently missed more games than he has started.
