DES Hamilton has departed from Blundell Park by what is described as 'mutual agreement' but Isaiah Rankin, who has spent the last month on loan from Barnsley has today signed on a permanent deal until the end of the season.

The departure of Hamilton was not unexpected but his leaving means that Nicky Law still has two loan places available if he needs them.

Craig Armstrong has signed on loan for the Mariners until the end of the season, but will not be allowed to play against Sheffield Wednesday when the two clubs meet next week.
