Town Sign Replacement Defender

RUSSELL Slade has been forced to sign another defender today after recieving the news that Rob Jones who was injured during the Boston game, has cartilage damage and may be out of the game for some time.

Glen Downey, whose brother is Scarborough's goalkeeper, has been loaned to us for the season.

Downey is described by Scarborough as a dependable squad member, who has made 18 starts for them.

  • In other news today Town have also taken Icelandic 'keeper Ollie Gottskalksson on trial. He has previously played for Reykjavik, Hibernian and Brentford.
  • Former Town centre back Simon Ford has signed non-contract terms with Grimsby's League Two rivals Bristol Rovers.
