Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby be next season?

Lee Pratt1986/87-1988/891 (0)0 goals

Legends are created every football Saturday and during May 1987, another name was written into Grimsby Town's not-always-colourful history.

I`m sure Lee Pratt is constantly ridiculed by his present workmates, not just for his name, but for his brief Town career. After all, we could all do better, couldn`t we? 90 minutes in goal, 5 goals conceded! And just for the record: Mike Lyons' last game in charge, Town already relegated and Phil Turner got the Town goal. Lee Pratt has heard all these stats no doubt.

The story of this solitary appearance is not really demisted by a quick flick back through the stats. No Nigel Batch, no David Felgate, no Mark Prudhoe. A blonde haired kid like a lamb to the slaughter. Nowadays such treatment would never be allowed.

The fact is Lee Pratt achieved a Town appearance inside 17 years, was reserve under Steve Sherwood during 87/88 and was a well respected local keeper for Louth in particular. He`s probably about 35 now. The question is: can he still play?
