Lincoln-born Italian striker with youth connections to Nottingham Forest. Carchedi first appeared as a well talked about youth team player back in 2001. However, he did not emerge into the first team squad until August 2003.
Carchedi suffered injury after injury and this would finally determine whether or not he had the ability to play for Grimsby. It was decided not as he was released from the club midway through the following season. After a brief trial at York City, Gio moved to the depths of non league football signing for Ossett Town.
