Town Announce Squad Numbers

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 14/07/2006

GRAHAM Rodger has announced his squad numbers for the 2006-2007 season. Numbers up to 25 have been allocated, but four gaps have been left - presumably for the players the Mariners are still intending to sign.

The three new signings have been allocated the No. 4 shirt (Harkins), 7 (Rankin) and 11 Beagrie. Gary Jones and Gary Croft have kept the same numbers as they had last season. The five youngsters at the club, who are likely to feature considerably more this season, have all been given the last five numbers.

Probably the most glaring omission for Town's squad at the moment is central defenders. Graham Rodger will almost certainly want experienced cover at the back for Ben Futcher and Justin Whittle.

The squad numbers are as follows:

1. Phil Barnes
2. John McDermott
3. Tom Newey
4. Gary Harkins
5. Ben Futcher
6. Justin Whittle
7. Isaiah Rankin
8. Paul Bolland
9. Michael Reddy
10. Ciaran Toner
11. Peter Beagrie
12.
13. Robert Murray
14. Terry Barwick
15. Gary Cohen
16.
17.
18.
19. Gary Jones
20. Gary Croft
21. Paul Ashton
22. Danny North
23. Nick Hegarty
24. Ben Higgins
25. Miles Chamberlain
