The Buckley Interview

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 03/12/2006

ALAN Buckley gave an interview on Mariners World this week during which he talked about the players, the changes to the style of play he is calling for and the ongoing development of the squad.

This was probably the best interview that Buckley has had since he came back and it was also the most revealing. He was comfortable, relaxed and very articulate in his statements of what he is looking for.

He made no bones about discussing individual players and his opinion of them, his plans for restructuring the squad and the effect of the three loan players joining the squad.

This was a different Buckley to the one we have seen in the past.

He was more than happy to talk and what he said gave an indication of how he saw the future.

He is obviously satisfied with the way in which the players have quickly responded to his demands for a change in style and the positional changes he has made.

Overall, his statements were somewhat inspiring and he clearly understood the past disappointments that the fans and supporters have suffered over the last few seasons.

I, for one, feel very confident about the future of Town having heard his views and his plans.

A few more games like the Accrington game and we will be seeing the fans returning in numbers and we just might be seeing all ticket games in the future.

To me, that interview alone was well worth the subscription cost to Mariners World which does more than just provide match commentaries.

You may not need the commentaries if you live locally but you could be missing out on some very interesting news, goals and player interviews that cannot be accessed anywhere else.

For just £39.99 a year, Mariners World is a 'must buy' for Town fans and you can join by going HERE
