Away Draw in FA Trophy

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/12/2010

GRIMSBY face a game in the Midlands in the Second Round of the FA Trophy against either fellow Conference side Kettering or Evo-Stik Premier outfit Chasetown, who drew with the Poppies at the weekend. The match will take place on Saturday 15th January 2011.

The winner of the match will receive £6,000 from the FA. The Mariners received £5,000 for beating Redditch in the previous round.

The fact that Kettering drew their game on Saturday means that Grimsby's match with the Poppies which was scheduled for Tuesday will once again have to be rearranged, probably early next year.

The draw is as follows:

Gateshead or Southport v Hampton & Richmond Borough
Boston United v Cirencester Town or Gloucester City
AFC Wimbledon v Woking
Droylsden v Ebbsfleet United
Chasetown or Kettering Town v Grimsby Town
Alfreton Town or Hyde_ v Cambridge United
Ashford Town (Middx) v Crawley Town or Dartford
Luton Town or Welling United v Uxbridge
AFC Telford United v Rushden & Diamonds or Eastwood Town
Darlington or Tamworth v Bath City
Worksop Town or Mansfield Town v Newport County or Wealdstone
Blyth Spartans AFC or Fleetwood Town v Curzon Ashton or Altrincham
Dorchester Town v Eastbourne Borough
Guiseley AFC v Stalybridge Celtic
Eastleigh or Sutton United v Worcester

The principal attraction of the FA Trophy is that the final is played at Wembley stadium and the winner receives £50,000.
