Beat the Bookies: Week 24

LAST Week's theory that there were going to be lots of upsets in the Blue Square League almost came true, but there were more on the Bank Holiday than on New Year's Day itself. Nevertheless upsets are the name of the game at the moment in all divisions, so keep backing them!

This week it's the FA Cup Third Round, traditionally the weekend of the greatest upsets of them all. In the previous round Beat the Bookies tipped two bets at 6/1 and 10/1 that both came in! Plus we have a near full set of Blue Square fixtures to choose from if the FA Cup is not enough for you.

  • FOREST GREEN (4.0, William Hill) v Fleetwood Town. Forest Green are not easy to beat at home.
  • DARLINGTON (2.9, Extrabet) v AFC Wimbledon. A long trip for Wimbledon, could end their recent good run?
  • SOUTHPORT (3.75, Extrabet) v Newport County. Southport had a good win at home last week. Why not again?
  • Hayes (3.5, 888 Sport) v TAMWORTH. Hayes are always worth backing to lose at home against anyone half decent.
  • Rushden v ALTRINCHAM (8, Extrabet). Altringham had a great result last week and Rushden have nosedived of late.
  • WREXHAM (2.4 Paddy Power) v Grimsby. Could Town be overpriced after two good wins?
  • Arsenal v LEEDS (12, Sky Bet). Arsenal are bound to rest a few players, the match is so much more important to Leeds!
  • Huddersfield v DOVER (12, William Hill). Dover score goals for fun on a good day, and in Adam Birchall they have the man for the big occasions).
