Grimsby v Rushden Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 15/03/2011

GRIMSBY begin the closing stages of the season with a home game against Rushden tonight with three points compulsory against an injury-hit Diamonds side if the Mariners are to have any chance of making the play-offs. 6 out of the next 8 games are at Blundell Park and Town need to ideally win them all.

Town have no new injury problems. 'Keeper Kenny Arthur (thigh) is still injured, so goalkeeping coach Steve Croudson may have to play again, although a foray into the loan market is still possible. Arthur is hopeful of being fit for Saturday at Bath.

Bryan Hughes (Achilles) is not an option in midfield due to injury. Micky Cummins and Mark Hudson are both still suspended. Moore may be tempted to start with Dean Sinclair who came off the bench to score the winner on Saturday.

Striker Charles Ademeno (knee) is available to caretaker boss Dave Moore should he care to take the option of bringing back a first choice player, but he'll probably get no further than the bench.

Justin Edinburgh has just 14 fully fit senior players to choose from. Club captain and top scorer Aaron O’Connor, Sam Smith, Ryan Charles and Curtis Osano are all out, while Michael Corcoran is also a doubt after missing Saturday’s match with a knee injury picked up in training.
