Midfielder Signs

FORMER Shrewsbury Midfielder Craig Disley has become the latest new signing in a busy week for the Mariners. The 29-year-old midfielder has signed a two-year deal at Blundell Park where he will hopefully be a mainstay of a new look midfield this season.

Disley has spent his entire career in the Football League, where he spent last season with play-off side Shrewsbury. In two seasons with the Shrews Disley featured in 42 games and scored three goals. Before that Worksop-born Disley was with Mansfield and Bristol Rovers. He has spent at least two seasons with all three of his clubs and never had a loan spell anywhere, a relative rarity in the modern era.

Town are still hoping to tie up a contract with Boston defender Shaun Pearson this week, making the 22-year-old the Mariners' fifth summer signing.
