Beat the Bookies: Week 14

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 11/11/2011

LAST week was a minor disaster because all four of our tips lost in unlucky Week 13. However we're still in profit for the season, but only just.

Home > 2011-2012 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 14

This week there is no league football at all because of the FA Cup and the various international games. We'll ignore the latter and concentrate looking for upsets in the former.

FA Cup Tips

  • Maidenhead v Aldershot - home win (5.0, 188 Bet). Aldershot lost to Dover last season in the FA Cup and face a side in the same league this time around. Maidenhead stuffed run-away BSS leaders Woking in the 3rd qualifying round, and will set about Aldershot on their sloping pitch in a similar manner.

  • Plymouth v Stourbridge - away win (9.0, Ladbrokes). Plymouth seem very low on confidence and look like they often throw away games they should have won, just like Town when they were at the bottom of League 2. They are bound to be nervous about facing a Stourbridge team who have put together some good results of late. 8/1 is definitely worth a punt!

  • Port Vale v Grimsby - away win (7.0, Boylesports). Town are undoubtedly underachievers in their division and if they play to their full potential it's more than likely that they'll give an injury-hit Vale side a real scare.
