Grimsby v Salisbury Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 13/12/2011

GRIMSBY host Blue Square South outfit Salisbury for the first time in their history for the FA Cup Second Round Replay at Blundell Park. The winner, who must be decided on the night, will face League One promotion candidates Sheff Utd at Bramall Lane.

Town's confidence will have been boosted by a ten match unbeaten run, including the 0-0 draw in the original fixture in Wiltshire, plus a number of clean sheets in recent games.

Town have at least one enforced chang as on-loan Luton defender Will Atwi is ineligable for the game as he played for the Hatters in an earlier round. Darran Kempson or Shaun Pearson will replace him, more likely Pearson who was solid in the original tie.

Green and Makofo are likely to miss out again through injury.

Town don't need to look very far back though to find a reason to take Salisbury seriously. Two seasons ago when Town were a league club, Grimsby lost in the FA Cup to Bath City, who were also in the Blue Square South at the time.
