Town Rescue Point at Chester

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 23/09/2013

TEN man Town rescued a point in a dull goalless draw at Chester following the sending off of Joe Colbeck early in the second half. It was a game of few chances, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock and fittingly ended 0-0.

Hannah started for Town, who played 4-4-2 from the start for the first time the season, with John Lewis the other preferred striker.

A scrappy first half ended 0-0 with neither side having many clear cut chances. Grimsby though had the best chance of the game towards the end of the period when the persistence of Hannah set up John Lewis who failed to make any sort of meaningful contact and his effort from six yards was blocked

Early in the second half Colbeck lashed out at a Chester player who had fouled him and received a red card.

Grimsby played slightly better with 10 men but there were few chances for either side, and the match drifted to the inevitable 0-0 scoreline.
