Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Lots of them
Lots of them

Unexpected, deserved....promotion?

13 GOALS in 2 games is a record Manchester City would be happy with, it is a rare occurrence having such 'easily' won games.

First off Gateshead. I am forever an optimist with Town, however there is a distinct line between delusional and optimistic. I, therefore, predicted us to lose or draw, especially considering we had scored 1 goal in 3 games in the run up. John-Lewis was about as accurate at finishing as a blunderbuss is at long distance shooting. The goals...well the own goal is the biggest shambles between a keeper and his left back. What possessed the keeper to be so far away from his line, when they had possession? It is not entirely his fault though, as the back pass could easily pass as a Rooney-esque shot.

Neilson's goal was the best run-up to a goal, and best finish all season out of all games. The way he kept control as he pivoted to turn away from two opposing defenders and from 25 yards, and at this level, to accurately finish top right corner with such pace on the ball...

John-Lewis's were good goals, perhaps overshadowed by Neilson's. Yet for a striker who struggled to find his feet, and the goal, getting two goals in one game against a team of Gateshead's calibre. Disley's looked like a piece of cake, where were the markers, the defender on the post to come forward and cover that angle, and the keeper...well the less said the better.

Alfreton was a game where I would have cried if we had lost or drawn. However Town rode the wave from Saturday, and we thumped 7 past them without conceding. Again John-Lewis impressed with moving his goal tally onto 3 from two games. Neilson doing likewise.
