Grimsby v Wycombe Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 26/08/2017

TOWN are hit with multiple suspensions following the red mist of recent games. Sam Jones and Ben Davies are both banned from participating in the match with Wycombe. Striker Scott Vernon (calf) faces a late fitness test after missing the last two games. Long term injuries are Akwasi Asante, Jamey Osborne and Sean McAllister.

Wycombe midfielder Sam Jones and strikers Nathan Tyson and Paris Cowan-Hall all missed their Chairboys' trip to Notts County but manager Gareth Ainsworth is hoping for some positive news on their front, whilst defender Anthony Stewart could make his debut for the club. Experienced striker Craig Mackail-Smith is also pushing for a start after making his first appearance of the season last weekend.

Wycombe hope to have midfielder and set-piece specialist Sam Saunders and striker Paris Cowan-Hall available again after injury, and striker Nathan Tyson may also feature after returning to training this week.

Wycombe did the double over Town last season, winning both games 2-1, so Town will be hoping for a boost after three straight defeats.
