Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

Pair Depart

SIRIKI Dembele has left Grimsby Town and joined League One side Peterborough United for "an undisclosed fee", said to be in six figures. The injury-prone winger was brilliant in patches for Town last season, and had a golden spell in the autumn when he was virtually unplayable.

However a troublesome back injury limited Dembele's involvement in the second half of the campaign, and he looked a shadow of the player he had been before he got injured.

Grim Rob Says: Dembele is undoubtedly worth a lot more money than we have received for him if he overcomes his injuries and fulfills his undoubtedly potential. He is one of the most skilful players Town have ever had, but strength and fitness may limit his development. I hope he does well because he was one of the few players that got you out of your seat in the first half of last season, and he always played with a smile on his face, and obviously loves playing football.

Another individual leaving the club is goalkeeping coach, Andy Warrington. Warrington left through his own choice, but Town boss Michael Jolley will be looking to recruit a replacement which will complete a clean sweep of the first team coaching staff since his arrival. Assistant Manager Paul Wilkinson has already been replaced by Anthony Limbrick, and Adam Forrest has been appointed as assistant coach.

Town boss Michael Jolley told the official site: "I would like to thank Andy for his excellent service to Grimsby Town - both before my appointment and during our brief time together.

"Having spoken with Andy at length, he has decided to move on for his own reasons and so we shake hands and wish him well in his future career. We are now in the process of identifying and recruiting a successor to Andy."
