Where will Grimsby finish next season?

Let's try and build something!

AFTER seeing the reaction to our match today you would think it's the end of the season already - no surprise - we had Slade, Bignot and before that the stability of Sir Paul whom, under it seemed, as long as we kept "us shape" all was well.

Last season MJ kept us up, no doubts. We were a sinking ship, moving back towards the Conference. Now we have a fresh face, with fresh ideas and a new outlook. Under Jolley, I believe, we could build something special, something with a purpose and hopefully something that looks at the bigger picture, rather than just a season, just football fortune or just selling a player for a miserly add-on fee.

I love looking at teams like Burton Albion , Accrington Stanley , Macclesfield: punching above their weight , but not looking for excuses. They show the way - not just because they are punching above their weight, but because they know there isn't one, we could go back to Championship, even Premiership --- we just need a plan. Bournemouth - are they a bigger club? We had as many there in 98.

I trust Michael Jolley, he seems a decent fella - I know a nice fella doesn't make a great manager and it might not work. However I think it will - short-term pain for long-term gain, I believe in Jolley and I hope we believe in him.

Why can't he be our next Martin Jolley, not our new Alan Buckley?
