Town Draw Weston in FA Cup

GRIMSBY avoided all the big teams and ended up in the role of the "giant" against Weston-super-Mare from the National League South. The Somerset club have played at Blundell Park before when Grimsby beat them 3-1 in the FA Trophy.
Town have faced non-league opposition in all three rounds at Blundell Park, in contrast to the EFL Cup, where they mainly played sides from further up the leagues. The Mariners have also enjoyed 6 home draws out of 7 in the 2 cups this season, and outnumbered Sheff Wed fans in the one away game.
Weston have never reached the Third Round before in their history, so they will probably be disappointed with a draw away at Grimsby!
Several all-Premier League ties were drawn from the hat, including Man Utd v Brighton. United were condemned to a light fixture list after their opening-round EFL Cup defeat at Grimsby, and have a tricky draw against the Sussex club, which could further erode their playing opportunities if they lose.
Grimsby's tie may be picked for a TV slot as it involves a non-league side, but if not, it will be on Saturday, 10 January 2026 at 3pm.
