New Rail Halt
One of the main objections to the new stadium is the use of Great Coates station by fans, and the use of the footpath from the station to the ground. CCTV, Police and stewards and all. In view of this, could not a new rail halt be build near the ground to service the Stadium on match days. This need not be a fancy affair but just a drop and pick up point for the fans. This would rule out most of the objections as no one would need to go through Great Coates village anymore to get to the ground.Eddie Burdass
Quite right Eddie
Eddie is quite right, a new rail halt would solve a number of the problems at Great Coates and could be achieved quite easily. A couple of concrete platforms should do it or maybe just one - is it down to single track these days ?
Lets face it if New Clee can be utilised in the not too distant past as a halt/drop for BP, in its derelict state and total lack of any facility except the platform, a new drop outside Pyewipe Rark should be possible/affordable surely
One of the Great Coates objectors could get the ticket collectors job or even the portaloo concession !
