Lawrence Wants Job

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 23/08/2000

Lennie Lawrence met with the Grimsby Town board this afternoon in his bid to be the Mariners next manager. Lawrence said he was ready for a new challenge and we are sure he would know that managing Grimsby will certainly provide one.

Vice chairman Bryan Huxford has again refused to comment on the decision saying, "It's important for everybody that a decision is made quickly. I'd like a new manager in sooner rather than later." One of the great assets Lawrence would bring with him are the contacts up and down the country he has made in football in almost 20 years in management, which could see him bringing in loan players from Premiership clubs. We will bring you the news as it develops. Stay tuned to this site!
