Lawrence on WBA

By: Stephen Bateman
Date: 28/10/2000

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's live TV match against W.B.A. Lennie Lawrence has revealed that he will be naming an unchanged side. Lawrence appears confident that he has found the right shape for his side in the guise of a 4-3-3 formation and believes that the rest is up to the players.

The Town boss, speaking of the mid-week win at Crystal Palace said: "There was a real determination in them to win the game. The tackles were going in and the blocks were going in, and right throughout the team there was a big determination to win the match. We will need that again. "If we're carrying two or three people we can't win, not in this League. I've warned them not to be foolish enough to think that just because it's at home that it's going to happen." Whilst discussing Town's current team tactics Lawrence took time to single out Bradley Allen and Stacy Coldicott, saying: "They look reasonably comfortable with it and the three narrow midfielders have to have a big capacity to run. Stacy has got that. "Bradley was mainly responsible for making it work on Tuesday and he will be again. His link-up play was excellent. He has to play the main withdrawn role and when we've got three up front one of them has to drop off." The lively competition for places in a reduced midfield sees Kevin Donovan miss the starting eleven once again, with Lennie Lawrence conceeding that he is perhaps the 'unluckiest' of those to be omitted.
