Tranmere Ticket News

By: Fishy News Team
Date: 29/03/2001

The club have now offered the fans of Grimsby a special ticket offer for the Tranmere match on Saturday 7 April. Kids under 15 years will be allowed to go for free with an adult for this fixture. The deal is to promote future attendance and to secure increased support for the team in a vital game.

It must be with a bitter taste in their mouths that the club feels that they have to make this move now, as the attendances should have risen in the nail-bighting climax to the season! Town have five more home matches left, each more important than the last, with a relegation spectre hanging over Blundell Park.

Mariners Quiz

Next Thursday evening the 5th April sees the Mariners team stage their very own version of "A Question of Sport" with a bit of "They Think it's All Over" thrown in as well.

A team made up of five current members of the Town squad will be taking on a team containing five former Grimsby players. The ex-Mariners team will include the legendary Tony Ford, the current Hull City assistant manager Dave Moore, and will be captained by Dave Boylen, who himself made almost 400 league appearances for the club.

Admission to the event is free, although no under 18's are allowed. Lennie Lawrence and his first team squad will all be in attendance and they look forward to meeting many of supporters there, on what promises to be an excellent evening of entertainment.
