DESPITE reports stating that he was going to Middlesbrough for a trial this week, Michael Boulding has been signed by another Premier league club.

Boulding will this morning be joining Aston Villa who snapped him up over the weekend.

Paul Groves said how sorry he was to see him go. "Michael was a smashing lad to work with. He played a major part in our successful stay in the First Division last season. We're sorry to see him go, and it will be a major loss, but we wish him well at Aston Villa."

Groves received a call from assistant manager Stuart Gray of Villa to confirm that he had signed Boulding and Groves spoke to Boulding himself to confirm the report.
