Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

Shrewsbury Team News

Date: 19/10/2004

Shrewsbury have no great injury worries for tonight's game with Grimsby with only defender Trevor Challis and Ben Smith on the sick list. They have however lost Richard Logan who has returned to Peterborough following his month on loan.

Jimmy Quinn's future as Shrewsbury's manager is seriously being questioned and he needs to get a couple of wins to lift the Shrews out of the bottom pack so is looking at this game to start the recovery.

"It is important because of the position we are in. The next two games are like two cup finals and we need to scrap and fight and get the fans on side."

"Colin (Cramb) is coming back to his old club and I am sure he'll want to do well. We'll certainly need to keep him quiet if he plays."

Shrewsbury's danger men as far as Town are concerned are Luke Rodgers and David Fox who have been their better players so far this season with Rodgers being described as 'pacy'.

Town, on the other hand, have major problems with Michael Reddy out and Ashley Sestanovich very doubtful to take any part in the game although he has been having extensive physio on his calf injury and it may be today that the final decision is made.

Colin Cramb is expected to play up front and Russell Slade is looking at Clint Marcelle and Stacy Coldicott to replace Sir Stan.

Slade said: "We have shown a great deal of character and a good work ethic to get where we are now. Shrewsbury is always a tough place to go and Tuesday will be no exception."

On paper, it might seem an easy win for the Mariners but, experience has shown that not everything turns out as expected and with Quinn fighting for his job we can expect him to be pushing his players very hard.

Referee will be Michael (call me Jonesy) Jones. Assistant Referees are David Hine and Ian Scarr
