TOWN face a 600-mile round trip to Devon in two weeks time after having been drawn against Conference outfit Exeter City in the FA Cup First Round. The Grecians currently lie mid-table in the Conference, and were a Football League club until 2003.
Town have already been knocked out of one cup this season by non-league opposition, when Carlisle claimed their scalps in the LDV Trophy.
Grimsby last played a non-league side in the FA Cup in 1976 when they beat Droylesden after a replay. Their last defeat in the FA Cup by a team outside the Football League was the previous year when Gateshead Utd triumphed 3-1 at Blundell Park.
