Anthony Doherty |
Midfielder on Trial

19-year-old former Bradford City youth player Anthony Doherty is on trial at Blundell Park after having been released by the Bantams in the summer.
The Bradford-born central midfielder spent three years in the Valley Parade youth setup, but was spotted by Town during exit trials in Leeds this summer.
Russell Slade's squad is currently short of at least one first choice midfielder, but backup players are also required in the centre of the park. It's likely that Doherty would fall into the second group, give his age and lack of experience. Much depends, however, on whether Russell Slade is able to land his other transfer targets, in particular the audacious swoop across the channel for two French midfielders.
