Jason Crowe

Very talented player who was a suprise capture from Portsmouth in July 2003. The previous season Crowe had played a key part in helping Portsmouth earn promotion to the Premiership and was offered the chance of staying on for the new top flight season, but was told he was not going to be a regular first teamer.

Crowe declined and amazingly dropped to Division Two signing for Grimsby. Crowe started his career off in the Premiership with Arsenal but soon moved on, playing for Crystal Palace and Brentford, as well as Pompey. He is a handy player capable of playing at his favoured position of right back as well as on the right wing and in central midfield.

After a decent first season despite the relegation most were expecting him to jump ship, but saying that he showed eagerness to stay and signed a fresh 1 year deal. Last season Crowe showed us more talented football, and confirmed our worst nightmares, that he was far to good for the club and the league.

At the end of a another disappointing season Jason was offered another contract but after making Russell Slade sweat over a decision he joined Northampton Town. Some might question his ambition as Northampton are no stronger than The Mariners themselves.

Next Player: Georges Santos
